Lori Youngberg is a Program Specialist III who manages the Graduate
Program in Seed Technology and Business, including one master of science
degree and two graduate certificates. She advises students on admissions
status, course selection/registration, program planning, creative component
creation and graduation. Youngberg supervises staff and hires faculty to teach
within the program. She manages all evaluation and assessment of the
program and implements positive changes by setting short- and long-term
goals. In addition, she coordinate a fall on-campus short course in Seed
Science and Technology and a bi-annual webinar series that cover topics in
seed science and seed business management. She has
worked to grow the STB program in both students and educational
opportunities for the seed industry. Her accomplishments include the creation
and implementation of both an on-campus and online Canvas orientation
course for STB students, development of our on-campus short courses and the
bi-annual webinar series, the conception of the new online guided creative
component course in Canvas, and the management of our annual faculty
lunch and learn networking events. Additionally, Youngberg was recognized
with the “Students First Award” awarded by the Great Plains Initiative, an
online learning consortium and the Continuing Education Certification-
“Creating Presence in Online Courses” from the University of Wisconsin-
