Gavin Siemers

The Seed Science Center is excited to welcome Gavin Siemers as a full-time Seed Analyst in the Seed Quality Lab; a new role for someone who’s already a familiar face around the building. Gavin worked in the lab as a student employee for two years before graduating from Iowa State University this spring with a bachelor’s degree in financial counseling and planning.

Gavin says his curiosity about the Seed Science Center is what first drew him in. “I was always pretty interested in the building and what the lab does,” he said. Now, as a full-time team member, it’s the people that make the job so rewarding. “My favorite part of the job is my coworkers, of course!”

Originally from Spirit Lake, Iowa, Gavin enjoys spending his time outside of work walking his dog and sampling delicious food. He comes from a family dedicated to serving others: his dad is a baker, and his mom is a nurse. As for his dog? Gavin jokes, “He’s a freeloader.”
