Dr. Lulu Rodriguez Named Reviewer of the Year by Journal of Applied Communications

Head shot of Lulu RodriguezThe Iowa State University Seed Science Center proudly congratulates Dr. Lulu Rodriguez, Global Programs Leader, on being named Reviewer of the Year by the Journal of Applied Communications (JAC), the flagship scholarly publication of the Association for Communication Excellence (ACE). The award was presented during the ACE Annual Conference held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Dr. Rodriguez, who also serves as adjunct professor in the Department of Agricultural Education and Studies, brings more than 20 years of expertise in communication education, research, and outreach to her work at ISU and beyond. Her recognition by JAC underscores her dedication to scholarly rigor and her commitment to advancing the field of agricultural and science communication.

The Journal of Applied Communications is a peer-reviewed publication that highlights developments in theory, practice, and pedagogy in agricultural communication. The journal places strong emphasis on research that explores communication processes and their effects, including those in journalism, strategic communication, public relations, and outreach.

Dr. Rodriguez’s research focuses on two key areas: evaluating the effectiveness of science and risk communication strategies and tactics on public understanding and behavior, and analyzing how mLulu Rodriguez holding her awardedia outlets perform in delivering complex scientific information. These efforts align directly with her global work, which involves partnering with national and international agencies, governments, and institutions to strengthen food and seed security through improved communication strategies.
