Purity & Germination Shortcourses

The purity session will consist of lecture and laboratory periods on seed structure, seed identification, purity analysis, sampling and dividing, seed laws, and tolerances. Attendees will conduct purity analyses and perform seed identification separations on at least 10 different samples. More than 116 different crop, vegetable, and weed species will be available for practice.

The germination session will cover the processes involved in seed germination, rules for germination testing, seedling evaluation, seed dormancy, seed and seedling vigor, seed longevity and deterioration, tetrazolium testing, genetically enhanced organism testing, and other special tests.

You can attend either or both of these sessions.
