Essays

On separate sheets of paper, please respond to the following essay questions. Each essay should be typed and limited to one page in length. At the top of each page, please put your name and the essay question being answered.

Essay #1 (Required):

Discuss your academic and career goals. How will a Degree or Certificate from the Seed Technology and Business Program at Iowa State University help you reach these goals? What unique qualities and experiences would you bring to the program? Is there any other information you believe is important to our assessment of your candidacy?

Essays #2 and #3 (Answer two of the following):

• Describe an ethical dilemma you have experienced. Discuss how you managed the situation.
• Write about a time when you experienced change. Evaluate your role and response in the process.
• Discuss the benefits and challenges of organizational teams. Do you consider yourself a team player?
• Describe the characteristics of a 21st century leader. Evaluate your own leadership potential.
• What regulatory challenge do you think will be most important for your seed industry in the next 10 years? How did you form your opinion?
• What role would you like to play in the seed industry? In what is this role complementary to your capabilities and personality?

Please include a copy of your resume with your essay responses.
